Meet Harlem Capital’s Summer 2025 Interns and the Launch of Intern Program 2.0

by

Harlem Capital Community,

Please join us in welcoming our Summer Intern Class: Sharon Casalino, Brianna Zuniga, Seong Yoon, Richard Wilson, Mary Aidan Hanrahan and Audrey Ajakaye

ABOUT THE INTERN PROGRAM

Harlem Capital’s internship is a 10-week program that occurs 3 times per year, with winter, summer and fall cohorts. Each cohort consists of 6 interns and 1-2 fellows (returning interns).

Each year, Harlem Capital’s internship program evolves, shaped by what we’ve learned, what our founders need, and what the next generation of investors are hungry to build.

This summer, we’re proud to announce not just our newest class of interns, but the official pilot launch of Intern Program 2.0, a revamped model rooted in clarity, ownership, and impact.

We’re testing out three new tracks that give interns a chance to go deeper in the areas they care most about and allow them to drive real outcomes from day one.

THE NEW INTERN PROGRAM 2.0

This summer’s cohort will be the first to operate under Harlem Capital’s new three-track structure:

  • The Hunters (Sourcing & Deal Flow)
Expanding Harlem Capital’s pipeline by finding the most promising, under-the-radar founders. These interns run weekly sourcing blitzes, tap into niche ecosystems, and present top startups to the team weekly.
  • The Builders (Portfolio Support & Ecosystem)
Delivering tangible value to Harlem Capital’s portfolio companies. These interns build toolkits, support customer calls, and help founders solve real GTM, hiring, and fundraising pain points.
  • The Architects (Incubation & Research)
Deep diving into market white space and helping us validate ideas we may choose to incubate. These interns run full research processes, from market mapping to AI tool identification, and present final recommendations to the partners.

In addition to the tracks, every intern will take part in deal diligence, a weekly curriculum, 1:1 pairings with HCP team members and in-person city meetups.

MEET THE SUMMER 2025 INTERN CLASS

This cohort represents our most intentional class yet and the first to test-drive this new format.

This 6 person intern class includes:

  • 83% women
  • 50% Black and Latino
  • 57% first-generation college students
  • 2 students and 4 full-time employees
  • Students hail from The University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Business School
  • Full-time employees come from iCapital, Breakthrough Energy, Palmstreet and Meta

Each intern will be embedded in their track, guided by both HCP leaders and peer Intern Leads who are returning Fellows from past cohorts.

A PLATFORM FOR LONG-TERM IMPACT

We built Intern Program 2.0 to better reflect how work happens at Harlem Capital. Clear lanes. Real ownership. And deep collaboration across the firm.

We’ve had 100+ interns come through the program since 2018 – many of whom have gone on to full-time roles at top venture funds, startups, or even joined Harlem Capital itself. This year, we’re raising the bar even further.

We couldn’t be more excited to watch this cohort put Intern Program 2.0 to the test and to continue building the most thoughtful, tactical, and diverse pipeline of future investors in the industry.

Stay tuned for more from this group over the next 10 weeks.

We have now had 134 interns over 23 classes with 20,400+ applicants. Be sure to apply to be a part of our next cohort!

Our Fall 2025 application is now open until June 25th, APPLY or SHARE.

Regards,

The Harlem Capital Team
