Meet Harlem Capital’s Fall 2025 Interns

by

Harlem Capital Community,

Please join us in welcoming our Fall Intern Class: Akhila Thota, Morgan Harlan, Catherine Palekar, Anika Chebrolu, Tosin Yeku and Karla Beltran

ABOUT THE INTERN PROGRAM

Harlem Capital’s internship is a 10-week program that occurs 3 times per year, with winter, summer and fall cohorts. Each cohort consists of 6 interns and 1-2 fellows (returning interns).

This fall, we welcome our second-ever cohort under Intern Program 2.0, Harlem Capital’s revamped internship model rooted in clarity, ownership, and impact.

Since 2018, 135+ interns have come through HCP – many going on to roles at top venture funds, startups, and even Harlem Capital itself.

This past Summer 2025, we officially piloted Intern Program 2.0, a redesigned structure to better reflect how work happens at HCP and to give interns the ability to drive real outcomes from day one.

The new model introduced three tracks:

  • Hunters (Sourcing & Deal Flow): Expanding our pipeline by surfacing the most promising under-the-radar founders.
  • Builders (Portfolio Support & Ecosystem): Delivering tangible value to portfolio companies across GTM, hiring, and fundraising.
  • Architects (Incubation & Research): Exploring white space through market mapping, AI tool identification, and incubation research.

In addition to the track work, interns participated in deal diligence, a weekly curriculum, 1:1 pairings with HCP team members, and in-person city meetups.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Feedback from our Summer 2025 pilot shows why this structure matters:

“People often say you can learn by listening and observing — this summer was the first time I truly experienced how powerful that can be. Just being able to sit in on conversations and observe how HCP operates was the most valuable part of the experience for me.”

“Honestly, it was an incredible experience — one of the biggest learnings came from being in the room (virtually) and observing how partners thought through deals, pushed on founder logic, and asked sharp questions.”

MEET THE FALL 2025 CLASS

This six-person cohort represents our most dynamic class yet:

  • 83% women
  • 67% Black and Latino
  • 50% first-generation college students
  • 50% first-generation American
  • 4 students (University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, MIT Sloan School of Management)
  • 2 full-time employees (Headway, prev Google)

Interns will be embedded within their tracks, guided by HCP team member track leads and peer intern leads (returning Fellows from past cohorts).

LOOKING AHEAD

Intern Program 2.0 reflects how we work at Harlem Capital: clear action, real ownership, and deep collaboration.

We’re excited to watch this Fall 2025 cohort continue to test the model and further our mission of building the most thoughtful, tactical, and diverse pipeline of future investors in the industry.

Stay tuned – more to come from this group over the next 10 weeks.

CONCLUSION

We have now had 140 interns over 24 classes with 21,600+ applicants. Be sure to apply to be a part of our next cohort!

Our Winter 2026 application is now open until October 1st, APPLY or SHARE.

Regards,

The Harlem Capital Team
