In late 2015 the founders of Harlem Capital set out to invest in underrepresented entrepreneurs as a small angel syndicate. Since then the team has evolved into an institutional early-stage venture capital firm on a mission to invest in 1,000 diverse founders over the next 20 years. Throughout this journey we have had the privilege of building and nurturing a network of budding and experienced founders, investors, and operators. 

We quickly realized we are uniquely positioned to foster a more diverse and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem beyond our portfolio. We began with the first Harlem Capital internship class in 2018 and never looked back. Our program has received over 5,000 applicants and has become one of the most diverse and robust in the industry, providing opportunities for historically overlooked talent to break into investing. Today, we are excited to announce the expansion of our platform with an angel investor training program for high performing tech industry operators.  

The Harlem Capital Angel Program will be led by our partners with support from the HCP team and industry experts. Through the remote 6-week program participants will acquire the knowledge, network, and diverse deal flow required to start functioning as investors committed to changing the face of entrepreneurship.

Program Dates: April 19 through May 27, 2021   

Harlem Capital Angel Program Eligibility Criteria:

• Ability to participate in weekly calls on Tuesdays (7-8:30PM EST) and bi-weekly elective calls with guest speakers on Thursdays (7-8PM EST)
• Operator at tech company that runs a line of business (Senior Manager, Director, or VP), OR an operator/founder with experience building/scaling startups
• 5+ years of work experience 
• Current or aspiring angel investor with plans to invest in the next 12 months
