June 8, 2026 – Harlem Capital is excited to welcome Akhila Thota to the team as Senior Associate. Akhila is not a new face around here, she spent time with HCP as an intern and twice as a Venture Fellow, contributing to sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support along the way, including hosting events that brought together founders and operators across the ecosystem. 

Before joining full-time, Akhila was a Senior Associate on the Strategic Finance and Corporate Development team at Headway, a mental health company on a mission to build a world where getting the right mental health care is easy and affordable. Prior to Headway, Akhila was on Morgan Stanley’s Tech Leveraged Finance team, where she worked on transactions for some of the most closely watched deals in tech, including Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter.

She comes to early stage investing with a genuine curiosity about every founder’s world, willing to go deep on a new space, and excited for founders to teach her as much as she brings to them. Relationship building is at the core of how she works, whether that means making the right intro, showing up consistently for the people in her network, or creating spaces where founders can connect with each other.
